Because of this, solar power systems were devised to harness this alternative energy source. Solar power systems were used for electricity and other minor purposes like cooking, heating, desalination and ventilation. Everyday equipment like solar calculators and solar power roof vents became more common. These solar powered equipments work in the same way as conventional equipment except that it is environment friendly and they save more money.
It’s true that solar energy’s potential is so huge that it has been researched and developed constantly in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of harnessing it. These led to different ideas and technologies such as solar updraft towers or solar chimneys, solar ponds and thermoelectric equipment. Even the idea of a solar power system in space is now being considered. It would be a huge breakthough in history of solar technology if it goes through and succeeds!
Solar power technology is becoming more important because it is practical and useful and meets current technological needs for clean and efficient power. With the way solar power systems have been developing, we can probably expect solar power for homes to be the standard for years to come.
